The John Rex Endowment continues its investment in capacity building for nonprofits and announces five grants totaling more than $127,000. The Alice Aycock Poe Center for Health Education, Communities in Schools of Wake County, and Loaves and Fishes Ministry will each receive capacity building grants. El Pueblo and InterAct will receive grant support for organizational assessments.

Capacity building grants will be awarded in the amount of $40,250 for the Alice Aycock Poe Center for Health Education, $40,225 for Communities in Schools of Wake County, and $24,231 for Loaves and Fishes Ministry. Capacity building projects allow organizations to plan or implement strategies to increase their effectiveness and sustainability. The John Rex Endowment is committed to funding this work for organizations that support an environment where children and families in greater Wake County live healthy lives.

El Pueblo and InterAct will each receive $11,500 to support organizational assessments covering six key areas of a nonprofit’s infrastructure including mission, vision and strategy; governance and leadership; resource development; strategic relationships; internal operations and management; and program delivery and impact.
