New Board of Directors Officers and Members Announced
The John Rex Endowment is pleased to announce new officers and members of the board of directors. Tom McGuire, partner of Armstrong and McGuire Philanthropic Advisory Group, has been elected as the new treasurer. New board members include Cathy Moore, deputy superintendent for school performance at Wake County Public School System (WCPSS); Deborah Nelson, consultant for early childhood system building initiatives; and James R. Talton III, senior vice president and financial advisor of CapTrust Financial Advisors.
“We are fortunate to gain the perspectives and leadership of Cathy Moore, Deborah Nelson and James Talton,” said, Kevin Cain, president and CEO of the John Rex Endowment. “Their expertise will be invaluable as we continue to work with the community to support an environment where children and families live healthy lives.”
Sherry Worth will continue as board chair and Jill Wright, MD, Wake Health Services New Bern Ridge Pediatrics, will continue as vice chair. Virginia Parker, vice president of development for Divers Alert Network (DAN), will remain secretary.
Larry Barbour, president and CEO of North State Bank; Marvin Connelly, assistant superintendent of WCPSS Student Support Services; and Don Rosenblitt, MD, clinical and executive director of Lucy Daniels Center, have completed their terms of service on the board of directors for the John Rex Endowment.
