New Funding Available for Nonprofit Capacity Building

The John Rex Endowment announces a new funding opportunity as part of our Strategic Roadmap. The aim of this Nonprofit Capacity Building Request for Proposals (RFP) is to build the strength and sustainability of nonprofit organizations that support vulnerable Wake County children in living healthy lives. The National Council of Nonprofits defines capacity building as whatever is needed to bring a nonprofit to the next level of operational, programmatic, financial, or organizational maturity, so it may more effectively and efficiently advance its mission into the future.

We are pleased to make available two types of Nonprofit Capacity Building funding; either an Organizational Assessment and/or a Capacity Building project. An organizational assessment is the process of determining an organization’s current strengths and challenges in order to identify capacity building needs and recommended steps for improvement. A capacity building project is based on the results of the previously completed organizational assessment.

Priority consideration will be given to organizations that primarily serve the eastern part of Raleigh and/or the eastern part of Wake County and have operating budgets of less than $5 million. For a full description of this opportunity, including eligibility, see the RFP. Letters of Intent for this current funding opportunity are due Tuesday, June 11.
