Six Nonprofits Receive Grants Totaling More Than $370,000
The John Rex Endowment announces an investment of more than $370,000 for six grants to support an environment where children and families in greater Wake County live healthy lives. The grants will support a Latino youth empowerment project, three nonprofit capacity building projects and two nonprofit organizational assessments.
El Pueblo, Inc. will receive $226,915 for a project to implement a previously funded planning grant to focus on empowering Latino youth to develop leadership skills; engage involved youth in transforming El Pueblo’s organizational culture; and partner with them to achieve positive changes in Wake County.
Capacity building grants include $47,725 for the Autism Society of North Carolina, $40,250 for North Carolina Healthy Start Foundation and $35,637 for PLM Families Together. Capacity building grant projects build the strength and sustainability of nonprofits.
The North Carolina Parent Teacher Association and StepUp Ministry will each receive an $11,500 grant to support organizational assessments of current capacities. Organizational assessments cover six key areas of a nonprofit’s infrastructure including mission, vision and strategy; governance and leadership; resource development; strategic relationships; internal operations and management; and program delivery and impact.
