Travel the Fitness Trail at Cary’s Spring Daze Festival

Get moving at Cary’s Spring Daze Arts & Crafts Festival Saturday, April 24, 9 am to 5 pm, at Fred G. Bond Metro Park. The 2010 festival includes a Fitness Trail with stops along the way featuring activities for all ages.  The first 600 visitors to the Fitness Stop near the information tent receive a free pedometer as part of the Fit Cary Pedometer Challenge.  The free pedometers and Fitness Stops have been incorporated into Spring Daze as part of an Active Communities and Neighborhoods grant from the John Rex Endowment.

Pick up your fitness passports at any Fitness Stop, travel the Fitness Trail and learn healthy tips along the way. Completed passports can be returned to any Fitness Stop for entry into a drawing for prizes. Learn more about Spring Daze.

Active Communities and Neighborhoods grants are funded as part of the John Rex Endowment’s long-term commitment to a Healthy Weight Initiative. The three-year grants support strategies to increase access and reduce barriers to opportunities for active living in a variety of locations in Wake County. With the help of the three-year grant, the Town of Cary has made park improvements, connected trails and greenways and implemented walking programs.
