In December 2021, our team adopted our new mission statement to bring clarity to who we are, what we do and who we aspire to be. 

Our mission is to strengthen organizations that center racial equity and justice to improve the social emotional health of children living in Wake County. This mission gives us the flexibility to focus on a wide range of work that impacts children.

How It Started

Through our strategic roadmap planning process, we developed a clear vision for the next 20 years to support this mission.

By 2038, we will have a resilient, equity-centered ecosystem that is better equipped to improve the social emotional health of children in Wake County.

What It Impacts

Once our board approved our strategic roadmap, we started using it as our North Star as we make decisions about who to fund, who to partner with and how to advocate. It helps us stay true to our mission and vision.

How We Approach Our Every-Day Work

We’re always thinking about how to make the biggest positive impact for Wake County children. As part of this work, we:
