Four Nonprofits Receive Capacity Building Grants

The John Rex Endowment continues its investment in capacity building for nonprofits and awards four grants totaling nearly $136,000.  Kidznotes, North Carolina PTA, Passage Home and StepUp Ministry will each receive grant support.

Capacity building grants will be awarded in the amount of $38,730 for Kidznotes, $40,250 for North Carolina PTA, $40,175 for Passage Home, and $16,704 for StepUp Ministry.  Capacity building projects allow organizations to plan or implement strategies to increase their effectiveness and sustainability.  The John Rex Endowment is committed to funding this work for organizations that support an environment where children and families in greater Wake County live healthy lives.

“We are committed to helping nonprofits work effectively and efficiently to achieve their mission,” said Kevin Cain, president and CEO of the John Rex Endowment. “Our investment in capacity building is focused on strengthening core infrastructure for local nonprofits.”

The John Rex Endowment has invested more than $1.65 million since October 2009 to support nonprofit capacity building for 33 local organizations.
