Childhood overweight and obesity continues to be a critical concern in Wake County.  The John Rex Endowment is interested in supporting overweight and obesity prevention strategies that (1) have a public impact (i.e., benefit more rather than few children); (2) have preventive benefits that are long-lasting (i.e., reduce the likelihood of overweight, obesity and related diseases such as diabetes); and (3) improve policies, practices, or places to support healthy weight. For this funding cycle the John Rex Endowment is releasing a request for proposals (RFP) for funding towards: (1) making healthy foods available and affordable for all children and youth and (2) improving or creating places or spaces for children and youth to be physically active.
