Showing up with care and intention

January 31, 2025

Dear Friends and Partners,

The uncertainties and challenges facing the philanthropic and nonprofit sectors now remind us of the importance of showing care in everything we do. Our priorities include ensuring families feel safe and supported, funding movements that advance equity, and serving as a steady, calming presence amid unpredictability. Our hearts ache for the people and organizations on the frontlines navigating the heavy burdens of uncertainty and fear. We want to be honest about how we’re feeling while continuing to ask: How can we best show up for you during this time? We are here to be thought partners, connect you to valuable resources, and provide space for collaboration and shared learning. In the coming days, we’ll reach out to grantees and partners to listen and explore ways to support one another moving forward.

Care is at the heart of everything we do—for one another, our grantees, and our community. We act with compassion and intention to strengthen relationships, support resilience, and create a more equitable future together.

This tumultuous start to this year reminds me of what is truly important. As community members, we have the power to support one another and dream of new systems of care for all children. Together, we will continue building toward a Wake County where equity and justice are at the heart of children’s social and emotional health.

We are profoundly thankful for your partnership as we navigate these challenging times together. Your dedication inspires us, and we remain committed to walking alongside you to address the needs of our community with care and intention.

With hope and gratitude,

Kellan
